Alice signs her works with her maiden name to distinguish her work from that of her sister-in-law, Irina Provada. These two women artists have much in common - they are members of the same family, they live close to each other and both have three children. But Alice's work is very different from Irina's, she uses different techniques and subjects. Her work pays homage to the Old Masters and is mysterious and expressive. The figures depicted on her dolls are attractively colourful and rich in tone. Alice takes her inspiration from literature and as Alice produces only a few dolls each year, all are certainly one-of-a-kind.
